Habbo Highlights: A Week in Review

From the return of a fan-favourite game to the farewell of iconic furniture, this week has been packed with exciting updates and a few controversies. Here’s everything you need to know about the latest happenings in Habbo!

Sports Furni Removed from Catalogue

With the conclusion of the many major sporting events across the world, the Sports Furni items have been removed from the Habbo Catalogue. These items were originally introduced during the Habbo Sports event, which coincided with the real-life Olympics and UEFA Euros, allowing players to celebrate these major sporting events within the game. As part of an ongoing reorganization of in-game items, the furni will no longer be available for purchase. While this may be disheartening for sports fans in Habbo, players are encouraged to stay tuned for future updates and new additions to the catalogue as well as the possibility this line of furni will return at another time.

Infobus Poll: Player Titles on the Horizon?

Excitement is building in the community as the recent Infobus poll hints at a potential new feature: Player Titles. This feature could allow players to showcase their in-game achievements or personality through custom titles, which has sparked some buzz among users. However, many Habbos feel that this addition may not be a top priority, especially when there are other pressing issues they believe Sulake should address. The outcome of the poll will reveal how much weight users place on Sulake’s ideas and whether they feel their concerns are being addressed in future updates.

BattleBall’s Return: Funky Friday & Rewards

BattleBall, one of Habbo’s most beloved games, has made its highly anticipated return with a ranked mode! Players are battling fiercely to climb the leaderboards, with the top 40 competitors from each hotel set to receive special rewards:

  • 1st to 5th place: 1x Gold Dragon Lamp
  • 6th to 15th place: 1x Silver Dragon Lamp
  • 16th to 40th place: 1x Bronze Dragon Lamp

To celebrate, Sulake introduced new lamps inspired by the colourful BattleBall bouncers via the Funky Friday lineup. However, the excitement around BattleBall has been mildly tempered by controversy. Reports have emerged of players using boosting and other unfair methods to gain an advantage in the rankings. While we wait for the first week's results, Sulake has admitted they dropped the ball on the ranked launch. Many players complained the competition favored time over skill. In response, Sulake has promised improvements for future tournaments and promised all competitors a personalized BattleBall Trophy with their name and final standing. These trophies are planned to become a regular reward of future seasons.

Moving forward, BattleBall will adopt a seasonal style setup with regular improvements. Planned updates include changing the scoring system to prioritize skill, changing power-ups, randomizing player spawn locations, and limiting the total amount of games that can be played in a season. A queue system is also being considered to prevent players from using alts to unfairly boost rankings.
