Infobus Poll Results: Titles Voted Down
The results of last week's Infobus poll are in, and despite 59.4% of players voting "YES" for Player Titles, the vote fell short of the required 70% threshold. With 507 YES votes and 345 NO votes, Sulake has confirmed that Player Titles will not be added to Habbo Hotel: Origins at this time.
DDoS Attack Disrupts Habbo Gameplay
On August 27th, Habbo experienced a sustained DDoS attack that severely disrupted gameplay. Habbo tweeted:
"Over the past 24 hours or so we've seen a sustained DDoS attack against our servers. We have a team of people working closely with our external providers to repel the attack. We understand how frustrating it is to not be able to play Habbo, thanks for your patience."
The attack not only prevented players from logging in but also impacted Funky Friday, with many players’ being unable to purchase credits for the Grey Cola furni. The disruption has led to concerns that future releases might face similar issues, but the Habbo team is working hard to prevent this from becoming a recurring problem.
BattleBall Results Update
After a delay due to the recent DDoS attack, the long-awaited BattleBall tournament results are now in! Sulake has confirmed that the top 40 players across each hotel have been verified and are slowly receiving their well-deserved prizes. The winners can now proudly show off their exclusive Gold, Silver, or Bronze Dragon Lamps based on their final ranking.
Return of Facial Expressions! Gasp
Now for the most exciting piece of news! Earlier this week, Macklebee announced on X the return of facial expressions to Habbo Hotel: Origins—an update stated to be their "biggest update yet." The feature allows players to display facial expressions when they type emotes in chat, bringing back a classic feature that adds fun, expressive personality to your Habbo. For many longtime players, it’s a nostalgic trip back to the early days of Habbo.
However, not all players are entirely on board. Some in the community are worried that labeling this update as the "biggest" signals a lack of substantial new features or content on the horizon. With bigger expectations surrounding the future of Habbo, players are hoping for more significant changes to come soon. For now, the facial expressions feature is a welcome return, but it has left some wondering if Habbo has more in store.
