The Habbzy Habbo of the Week is a chance for us to feature one of the many community members who make Habbzy feel like family. It may be a DJ, a staff member, or someone who just shows up often and keeps the vibe uplifting. This week, we are acknowledging the influence and passion of DJ CaptainSlayer, one of Habbzy's most recognizable faces.
You will most often find CaptainSlayer hanging out on Friday nights during his weekly set, but he can also be trusted to sporadically wedge himself into the schedule during his free time - keep an eye out on Discord for his "secret" shows. CaptainSlayer is mostly known for his expansive knowledge of all things angst, - emo/screamo/punk/hardcore/metal - so we wanted to dig a little deeper and ask... who is the man behind the music?
What brought you to Habbzy?
Friends! Habbo is an excellent resource for meeting new and interesting people and when I heard a community was being created with people at the forefront, I knew I wanted to be a part of it.
Where will people most commonly find you in Habbo?
Hanging out in whatever room is near the top of the navigator with Habbzy.com in the name.
What is the story behind your username?
I was playing Halo: Combat Evolved in 2001 with a friend and we'd just finished the campaign and decided to give multiplayer a shot. I wanted to make my spartan armor black which required you to make a profile, which required a name. We were trying to play Slayer and Captain Keyes was fresh on my mind, so I put it together to form CaptainSlayer, or well, CptSlayer since the name limit was so short, but I added the other letters wherever I could over the next 23 years.
Are there any features you really hope get added to Origins?
I would like to see the 'follow' feature return so I don't have to message friends asking where they are first. For privacy reasons, folks should be able to turn following on and off as they want. I would also not be upset if TRAX returned.
When you are offline, what do you enjoy doing?
Reading comic books (mostly X-men), playing other video games, and writing!
What genre(s) of music do you DJ?
Punk rock, Hardcore, Metal, Emo, Screamo, and Alternative.
Do you have any parting words for your fellow Habbos?
